چکیده

The cage-based deformation of a 3D object through generalized barycentric coordinates is a simple, e cient, e ective and hence widely used shape manipulation scheme. Editing vertices of the polyhedral cage induces a smooth space deformation of its interior; the vertices thus become control handles of the nal deformation. However, in some application elds, as medicine, constrained volumepreserving deformations are required. In this paper, we present a solution that takes advantage of the potential of the deformations based on generalized barycentric coordinates while adding the constraint of keeping a volume constant. An implementation of the proposed scheme is presented and discussed. A measure of local stress of the deformed volume is also proposed.

2D Simulation and Mapping using the Cauchy-Green Complex Barycentric Coordinates

2D Simulation and Mapping using the Cauchy-Green Complex Barycentric Coordinates Conformal maps are especially useful in geometry processing for computing shape preserving deformations, image warping and manipulating harmonic functions. The Cauchy-Green coordinates are complex-valued barycentric coordinates, which can be used to parameterize a space of conformal maps from a planar domain bounde...

Interior Distance Using Barycentric Coordinates

This paper introduces a framework for defining a shape-aware distance measure between any two points in the interior of a surface mesh. Our framework is based on embedding the surface mesh into a high-dimensional space in a way that best preserves boundary distances between vertices of the mesh, performing a mapping of the mesh volume into this high-dimensional space using barycentric coordinat...

Hele-shaw flow simulation with interactive control using complex barycentric coordinates

Hele-Shaw flow describes the slow flow of a viscous liquid between two parallel plates separated by a small gap. In some configurations such a flow generates instabilities known as Saffman-Taylor fingers, which form intricate visual patterns. While these patterns have been an inspiration for artists, as well as thoroughly analyzed by mathematicians, efficiently simulating them remains challengi...

Generalized Barycentric Coordinates on Irregular Polygons

In this paper we present an easy computation of a generalized form of barycentric coordinates for irregular, convex n-sided polygons. Triangular barycentric coordinates have had many classical applications in computer graphics, from texture mapping to ray-tracing. Our new equations preserve many of the familiar properties of the triangular barycentric coordinates with an equally simple calculat...

Higher Order Barycentric Coordinates

In recent years, a wide range of generalized barycentric coordinates has been suggested. However, all of them lack control over derivatives. We show how the notion of barycentric coordinates can be extended to specify derivatives at control points. This is also known as Hermite interpolation. We introduce a method to modify existing barycentric coordinates to higher order barycentric coordinate...
